Officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Drug Control Service detained a man with a large batch of hashish near Bishkek. A law enforcement source confirmed the information to uzsushi.com news agency.
According to the source, the detainee is an employee of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS).
The officer was arrested at the end of February, and during the arrest, hashish was discovered in the car he was driving. He was placed in a pre-trial detention center.
Drug enforcement officers are working to identify his accomplices, who may also be members of the security services.
